I wonder how Diana dealt with any guilt she may have felt for not acting on what Jenny told her about the abuse that was going on? There really are no winners here are there.... well maybe Jenny won by living a good life.. But then i have read Jenny was in therapy almost the rest of her life.... I so want to take away something positive from this, but it is so far a bit dissapointing

Jenny and Sylvia both told Diana that they were being punished wayy too severely (Polite way to say abused) and Diana thought that they were exaggerating. I also genuinely wonder how the whole family dealt with such a huge amount of grief. I don't blame any of them but I could see a way how they could all blame themselves, I sincerely hope they didn't. But it is human nature

I am a writer and am attempting to write a postivie book on Sylvia - the story of her short life and not her awful death. I need to find people who knew her. I need to talk to her sister Diana and other friends or relatives to portray Syliva authentically. Does anyone have any information on Diana? How one would get ahold of her. I have seen her name as Diana Shoemaker and Diana Bedwell- Knutson. Any other relevant names would be helpful as well. Thanks.

Jenny did tell Dianna that Gertrude was beating them, but she thought she was exaggerating. Lester had a heavy hand with the girls as well. Dianna tried to go to the house, but she was estranged from her parents at the time, and Gertrude told her she was not allowed to talk to them and threatened to call the police. There is no way Dianna could have known. She probably has guilt, but she does not deserve it. She looks very pretty in this picture.

This is the picture I was talking about. That's Dianna with her hand on Jenny's shoulder. I didn't even recognize her in the other picture.

Υeah, Gertrude threatened her, so the only thing she could do was just leaving? Τhey were her sisters, she could go to the police and ask for help, she didn't do anything, shame on her and to her parents who left their beautiful daughters with a stranger, unreliable people...
