Looking at her side profile, she most likely ended up looking exactly like Gertrude. Well, a fat, goofier version but still, she most likely ended up looking like her mother. :|

Her vile, mean face has put me off my dinner. Almost time to join your mummy, porker!

The comments made on this picture are a perfect display of the cycle of hatred of humanity. The reason that Sylvia's story grabs so many people's hearts is because her human dignity was stripped of her and she lost any respect she had. By saying that she is/has a "fat, goofier version", a "vile, mean [porker]", and a "fat pudgy face", you are doing exactly the same.

Yes, but we're not abusing children...

Did I say that? No. The comments about this woman are obscene and I do not think that anybody deserves to be spoken of that way. EVERYBODY is capable of change. One day Paula could start a charity that helps abused children get out of the cycle of the abused becoming the abuser. Then would you still be calling her those names? (rhetorical)

Oh, it's another Baniszewski groupie. If she tortured your sister or friend to death, would you still claim she doesn't deserve to be spoken about in this way? Pathetic.

Your argument is pathetic. Sylvia is neither your sister nor your friend. And I do not believe that she deserves to be spoken about that way. At least not publicly. Why do you think all of the captions on these pictures are purely objective?

How do you know Sylvia isn't my friend? How do you know Sylvia's relatives are not members of this board? You don't. Whether Sylvia is my friend or not is entirely irrelevant. If the Baniszewski's didn't want to be spoken about negatively, or publicly, they shouldn't have taken a life; ruining the lives of countless others in the process. You think my argument is pathetic because you disagree; how incredibly intelligent of you.

I do know that they are members of this board. I know that for a fact. I read. But people are capable of something called forgiveness. It's an elementary term that means to grant pardon for or remission of an act or to cease to feel resentment against. It isn't easy, but it's possible, and I believe that it's the only way we can get places in life.

I know for a fact that Jenny Likens never forgave her sister's killers; Dianna Likens said so herself. So while you're criticising us for not forgiving these Nazi's, you're criticising Jenny Likens in the process. No-one is interested in your preaching.

Luke 7:34-35 "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by all her children."
Amen.

She looks like she's trying to keep from laughing. It's as though she doesn't realize the gravity of what she did.

Cherbirdie brings up a good point, even if you did dismiss it. How would you feel if your sister or daughter or loved one was murdered? Are you saying that you would not want to kill those responsible yourself? It's easy to pontificate and take the moral high ground when it happens to someone else. And before you tell us that no, you would not, wait until it actually happens and then tell us how you feel. I hope you never have to but don't judge those who have experienced this pain and have not forgiven.

Perhaps these people should go and quote passages from the Bible to people who are doing real harm; the Baniszewski's for example.

I'll bet she has been forgiven. The gravity of it all, and living with it all these years, I'll bet she has asked and got forgiveness.

skorgal13 is complaing about the hate that is shown towards Paula Baniszewski and is comparing it towards the hate that was shown towards Syliva.

He/she is forgetting that Syliva did not deserve the hate that was shown towards her. Syliva never tortured or killed anybody. Paula deserves to be not be trusted by society and deserves the negative feelings she recieves. Paula helped torture and kill another human being.
